Code of Conduct - Parents
Parents: - Encourage participation but do not force them
- Teach children that honest effort is the victory, not the winning
- Encourage your children to always play by the rules
- Never ridicule or yell at a player for making a mistake or losing a game
- Remember that involvement is for your children’s enjoyment, not yours
- Remember that children learn best by the example set by you
- Acknowledge and applaud good play by both teams
- Recognise positively the recreational contribution of voluntary officials
- Never publicly disagree with officials. Raise any issues you may have privately
- Support all efforts to remove verbal, racial and physical abuse
- Support your club officials to foster high standards of behaviour for your club/league
- Get involved as much as possible with your child through the course of the season
- Your personal participation as an official on the day will go a long way in making the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone
